Domestic commonly known as laser tube, full name: glass sealed off CO2 laser. Because the laser is packaged by glass tube, it is commonly known as laser tube.
Working principle: high voltage discharge excites high concentration CO2 gas to produce laser with wavelength of 10.6um.
It is mainly composed of hard glass, resonant cavity and electrode.
1. Hard glass part: this part is composed of discharge tube, water cooling sleeve, air storage sleeve and return pipe made of GG17 material. Sealed off CO2 laser usually has three-layer casing structure. The inner part is the discharge pipe, the center is the water purification sleeve, the outermost layer is the gas storage sleeve, and the return pipe is used to connect the discharge pipe and the gas storage pipe.
2. Resonator part: this part is composed of total mirror and output mirror. The total reflection mirror of the resonator is generally based on optical glass, and its surface is coated with gold film. The reflectivity of the gold film mirror near 10.6um is more than 98%. The output mirror of the resonator is generally made of germanium (GE) which can transmit 10.6um radiation and is coated with multilayer dielectric film.
3. Electrode part: cold cathode is generally selected for CO2 laser, and its shape is cylindrical. The selection of cathode data has a great influence on the life of the laser. The basic requirements for cathode data are: low sputtering rate, low gas absorption rate,
The main specifications and models of laser tubes are based on laser power. The common laser tube types are 40W, 60W, 80W, 100W, 130W, 150W.
Laser tubes with different power are divided into different lengths. For example, the length of 60W laser tube is 1200mm or 1250mm, and the length of 80W laser tube is 1600mm
Laser tube is mainly used in CO2 laser processing equipment. Such as laser engraving machine, laser cutting machine, laser marking machine, etc.
As for the longevity of the laser tube, taking the 80 mm diameter laser tube as an example, when the starting current is 6 Ma, the lifetime can reach more than 10000 hours, and when it is greater than 6 Ma, the life will be shortened. In other words, the greater the current, the shorter the life span. In the actual use process, and under the standard working conditions, the service life is generally about 5000 hours. As the vulnerable parts of laser machine, proper protection can also increase the service life.
